Nicola over at The Yogic Housewife often posts a list of things that are making her happy. I love reading these posts! It’s great to get an insight into what everyone else is up to…especially those who share your interests. I thought I would share with you some of the things that are floating my boat at the moment…and so here it is, my love list…
1. Soy Dandecino
As you know I have drastically reduced (as opposed to given up completely and forever) my caffeine intake meaning my beloved morning latte has had to go. Sherilyn over at Whole Promise had posted about Dandelion Root Tea and how it is a little like coffee. I admit, I didn’t believe it could be good, but guess what...it is! The Soy Dandecino, being caffeine free (and great for your liver) is now my morning drink of choice. I have it latte style with a touch of cinnamon…thanks to Lou from Fridgescrapings for that tip!
2. Books
I have a huge stack of books on my bedside table at the moment. I have given up watching TV and go to bed at 8.30 pm to read! I have my nose stuck in The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. It’s fun and very thought provoking! I have also just finished Dinner: A Love Story by Jenny Rosenstrach. It is the story of how two working parents committed to being home to make and eat dinner with their kids (almost) every night. It has some great recipe inspiration too! Both of these books started as blogs…I would LOVE to write a book someday…just not sure what about…any ideas?
I love to read non-fiction but I’m certainly not above curling up with a Marian Keyes – total escapism!
3. Clare Bowditch
On Saturday night, my husband and I went to see Clare Bowditch play. It was pretty exciting because we haven’t been to a live music gig forever! She is just so joyous, down to earth and absolutely comfortable with herself. I could totally see Clare and I becoming friends…she is definitely in my Positivity Posse…if you haven’t heard her music before you can check it out here.
4. My Morning Walk
I’ve been trying to get myself out the door by 6.30 am a few mornings a week to go for a walk. It’s lighter now and slightly warmer so it feels good to get down to the beach and soak up all that positive energy from the ocean. I love where I live…even if it is a little cold most of the year!
5. Gluten Free and Dairy Free Cooking
I have been doing a lot of cooking lately. Experimenting with dairy and gluten free ingredients can be challenging and it doesn’t always go to plan (such as the df, gf chocolate birthday cake that collapsed when I topped it with icing!!) however…it is well worth it because we are all feeling so much better. Thank goodness for food bloggers! What did all the people with intolerances do for inspiration before the web? My new favourite is My Darling Lemon Thyme…this post has great ideas for kids gluten free lunch boxes…and yes! I made the cookies and they were a hit!
Most exciting of all is finally buying a Thermomix! I um-ed and ah-ed for ages not sure I could justify it since I already have every kitchen appliance known to man…but making everything from scratch is so time consuming and labour intensive! I’m sure this is going to be a great help and pay for itself in no time. It will Cossie, I promise!
So there you have it, my love list. What is floating your boat at the moment? I would love to hear from you if you have a good book to share, a blog we can check out or a handy hint for happiness…
Love and light,
mamacino x

Wow, how exciting- a Thermomix!! Very very envious of that appliance for sure – so cool
Yay, glad you like the cinnamony-addition to your dandy…. I love a morning dandy latte, such a lovely start to the day…. I am cultivating my own organic dandelion patch in my garden at the moment so I can harvest my own
I would love to hear about that when it happens! Be sure to write a post about it
I could never give up my one espresso a day – it’s a simple joy in my life…but I have heard good things about Dandelion root tea so might try it out one day
I love Offspring, so have heard of Claire Bowditch….is the rest of her CD worth as good as that one song??
I think it would be your cup of tea Kirri…maybe go on you tube and have a listen to a few songs first…’You look so good’ is another fun one.
Loving the love list!!! Have half if one written but was too busy packing, flying and shopping to finish. I need to try your dandelion drink….slightly suspicious.
I wish I could make one for you! How was your Melbourne trip? Can we expect a post about that soon? No pressure, lol xx
love your love list
Thanks Sonia! But, then…we are soul sisters so it’s only natural we like the same things, lol!
